BGGD3: full house – but trying to get the Facebook ladies in
A week or so ago I realised there was not enough space to accomodate everyone who wanted to be at the third Brussels Girl Geek Dinner. To make matters even more dramatic, thirty-something people answered “yes” to the Facebook invite, but didn’t add their name to the official Registration Wiki page.
So over the last few days I did a couple of things to try and fix it:
- I decided not to count the boys – accompanying “talking handbags” will get food and drinks but no goodie bag. This freed up about ten places.
- I moved the reserves list to the subscribers list because in theory they are the first in line to get on the list.
And now we’re up to the maximum of 40 subscribers again, while there are still 15 “Facebook ladies” who’d like to join.
So here’s my question: have a good look at the Attendants List over at the wiki. If you’re listed as “Attending” but you’re not able to make it to Ghent on Wednesday 13 February, please remove your name or move it to the Off list a bit lower on the page. If you’re having trouble don’t hesitate to mail me at clo <at> bnox.be
Location, location, location
Good news! The people over at ONE agency offered to host the third Brussels Girl Geek Dinner. Which will not be in Brussels, but in Ghent, but hey… the world is a small place but I wouldn’t want to clean it :-)
This is the input for your gps gizmo:
ONE Agency NV
Antoon Catriestraat 1A
9031 Gent (Drongen)
Belgium
Download pdf with route description.
We’ve chosen this location because the ONE agency offices are easy to reach, provide enough parking space, and, to be honest, because they have good wifi for all the ladies and their robots. ONE Agency is a full-service interactive agency, specialized in new interactive marketing and communication. To be honest they are a bit hard to describe, but they have a cool tag cloud that kind of says it all.
If you wish to car pool or have seats in your car available, don’t hesitate to use the BGGD3 wiki page (the password is tux).
Do you love your laptop?
Tech toys aren’t just for the boys. And although we use our gadgets a little differently than men, we still enjoy them in our everyday lives — for work, play and communication.
Think, for example, about the laptop you use every day, and the bag you carry it in. What does it look like? Is it a girly laptop bag? Mine looks like a giant black leather handbag but I love it because it doesn’t have “Steal me! Laptop inside” written all over it. (It’s a black Knomo Cholet and cost a small fortune when I bought it three years ago but I never leave home without it)
Aaaaanyway… the kind people at Belgian e-commerce company Indio are trying to find out.
Please have a look at their Laptop and Laptop bag Questionnaire – it will only take 5 minutes of your time.
After submitting your answers you are also eligible to win one of 5 vouchers for the value of EUR 25 to be spent on online bag store Bagazoo.com. Thanks, ladies!
