Brussels Girl Geek Dinner

About

Girl Geek Dinners are events for females who class themselves as girly and geeky. The events have a technical focus and are light hearted and fun.
This blog was created by Clo Willaerts to set up a Brussels Girl Geek Dinner.
Idea inspired by Sarah Blow of London Girl Geek Dinners. WP Design by Ine Dehandschutter. Adapted Girl Geek Dinners logo by Carolien. Original logo by Cole Henley.

Merry Geekmas, everyone!

Posted in Girl Geek Dinners by Clo Willaerts on the December 23rd, 2008

Just a quick note to wish every Girl Geek (and the sacoches that go with them) pleasant holidays and all the best for 2009!

I’m working on BGGD #10 (theme: Beauty – probably in Brussels on 4 18 Feb 2009) and BGGD #11 (theme: Mobile – probably in Antwerp on 10 March 2009) – still figuring out the speakers for the first, and the giveaways (Blackberries? Nokias?) for the second. Any help welcome!

In the meanwhile, enjoy this little Tag Ball I made with Tag Galaxy:

Woman’s Academy just launched

Posted in Networks by Clo Willaerts on the December 11th, 2008

logo.gifThe website (http://www.womansacademy.be/) is still under construction, but we’re announcing it anyway. Jump‘s Woman’s Academy has just launched, offering short professional workshops organised for women only and taught by a female expert. The Woman’s Academy has the objective to make women aware of the need to being continuously trained and to give them the means of doing so.
Who’s the target public?

  • Women Entrepreneurs : starters, confirmed entrepreneurs, “helping  partner”, non working women with a entrepreneurial project
  • Talented Women : for “re-entering” labour market after a career break or women changing career direction
  • Executive Women : for managers and executive positions

And now for the good news: if you mention you are a member of Brussels Girl Geek Dinners, you get 10 € discount on the workshops from the Talented Woman’s Academy and 20 % on the workshops from the Executive Woman’s Academy.
