About

Girl Geek Dinners are events for females who class themselves as girly and geeky. The events have a technical focus and are light hearted and fun.
This blog was created by Clo Willaerts to set up a Brussels Girl Geek Dinner.
Idea inspired by Sarah Blow of London Girl Geek Dinners. WP Design by Ine Dehandschutter. Adapted Girl Geek Dinners logo by Carolien. Original logo by Cole Henley.

#BGGD33: What’s in the goodie bag?

Posted in Girl Geek Dinners,Sponsor love by Clo Willaerts on the July 12th, 2010

Time to move, ladies! For the fashion and photography edition I got two things you can take home:Activia Houp

  • Fresh samples of the new Activia Drink
  • Activia Houp hula hoops

I trust you all know what Activia Drink is but these Hula hoops might need some explanation. From the wikipedia entry on Hula Hoop:

The record for simultaneous hula hooping (minimum time: 2 minutes) is for 2,290 participants at Chung Cheng Stadium in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 28 October 2000.

The idea is to break that record on Saturday 14 August 2010 at the beach of Oostende. For this we need at least 2300 people hooping at the same time for at least two minutes.

Want to know more? Here’s an introduction from no less than Evy Gruyaert and Julie Taton :

See you on the 14th of August, in Oostende. Let’s break that world record!

Posted in Girl Geek Dinners,Where and when by Clo Willaerts on the July 2nd, 2010

Hello ladies,

Next Brussels Girl Geek Dinner is on Mon 12 July 18:30 in the heart of Brussels. This time it’s a female only edition, with up to 40 girl geeks this time.

Thanks to http://www.dujardinstore.com we’ll be able to indulge in:

1) For 10 of you: learn how to walk like a catwalk model, with tips from a professional fashion stylist.

2) Fashion photography workshop by fellow girl geek Monica Monté (@sart68).

There will be healthy/girly food and of course we’ll try out everything we can get our hands on from the upcoming Dujardinstore.com winter collection.

Put your name on the wiki to get in for free:

Dujardin

Dujardinstore.com is the rebirth of a very famous traditional Belgian brand back in the 20th century, now relaunched through a complete new business model focusing on e-commerce.
The collections are 100% made in top-quality cashmere, targeted at male and female who like tradition with a touch of glam, and who are rapidly becoming addicted to the softness of the cashmere….
Top-quality cashmere, partially hand-made in best Italian factory at affordable prices are made possible through this new economic model, without any distributor.
Still, Dujardinstore.com has a few ambassadors boutiques in Brussels, Knokke, Spa, La Hulpe, Paris,…(and more to come) where customers can try the clothes on before ordering online via iPads made available for them in the boutiques.
At Dujardinstore.com, we strongly believe the new technologies are changing our ways of consuming and buying products and we would be very pleased to show you how it works for us while let you discover in an exclusive avant-première our fall/winter 2010 collection !
